As a RoadSafe ambassador, I’m keen to support any initiative that improves road safety for young drivers. I was delighted when ingenie, a fresh-thinking insurance company for 17 to 25 year olds, asked me to make a video which explains how young drivers can get on the road for the first time – especially given that ingenie insures learner drivers with a provisional licence.
ingenie uses telematics technology to help create better, safer drivers. Young drivers receive feedback on their driving via twitter-style messages on the ingenie app. Policies are reviewed every 3 months, with the best or most improved drivers receiving a discount on their insurance premium.
Take a look at my video for more information about how to get on the road for the first time.

‘The mind, when housed within a healthy body, possesses a glorious sense of power’ Joseph Hubertus Pilates, 1883-1967
I liked what this dude Joseph had to say; who in their right mind would turn down the opportunity of a bit more power?! Armed with my new life philosophy I went out to find someone who could teach me Pilates. The chance of World domination aside, I thought it may help with both my back and sleep problems which have niggled me for years. I came across a wonderful lady from Brazil called Danile Granato; and I am happy to report that her lessons are quite incredible. I am stretching out in directions I didn’t know I was capable of. I’m sure each time I walk out of her Pilates studio I’m an inch taller than I went in. On top of all that my belly or ‘puku’ as I prefer to call it, is definitely getting firmer and flatter.
Apologies for being rubbish at keeping this site/ blogs etc updated. From April 2010 things are going to be different!
I am proud to say that my potato growing exploits are going well…so far. Proof that anyone, anywhere, can grow their own veg, as I have a balcony the size of a postage stamp. All you need is a grow bag, some compost, and an ability to nurture. Water regularly and give them Tomorite – I have learnt that tatties are in the same family as tomatoes. Who knew. Oh and sunshine too. If I win this tattie competition I get 5k for my Mum’s charity KidsAid, so the pressure is ON.
Just a quick post to let you know that a selection of new articles have been added to the ‘Press’ section. These include some shopping tips, a Travel special on an all girl biking adventure in the Alps and an insight into my visit to a sleep clinic and being a vegetarian – Enjoy x
